Herefordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) wants patient experience to truly influence local health services.
A key part of this commitment is our Membership Scheme.
We aim to develop a core membership of over 2000 members of the public. You can provide us with some details about yourself, including any specific areas of interest you may have.
We want people of all ages and backgrounds. The information we ask you to provide when you register will help us to ensure our membership represents a true cross-section of local people. We will also be able to work out if any groups are under-represented.
Members will be contacted bi-monthly with a newsletter. The newsletter will outline areas for people to be involved in, health events, national consultations, local and regional health related activities and events. It is also used to canvass opinions about Herefordshire’s health services and highlight where there are opportunities to improve the service from a patient perspective.
Members may also have the opportunity to take part in focus groups or workshops, the results of which are used to review services.
This makes the patient voice stronger and gives the patient the power to challenge commissioners in terms of management and providers in terms of performance and hold them to account jointly about the service delivered.
