Patient Participation Groups

Most of the GP practices within Herefordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) have now established a Patient Participation Group (PPG).

The role of PPGs is to get patients more involved with the way the practice is run.

Anyone registered with that practice can become a member of the PPG.

Members have the opportunity to work with doctors and practice managers on a wide range of activities. This can include:

  • Influencing decisions about services and facilities
  • Helping practices make the best use of resources
  • Improving communications between staff and patients
  • Making sure patient views are properly represented

You will also have an opportunity to take part in practical tasks such as carrying out surveys or giving advice at flu clinics.

Herefordshire CCG is working jointly with Healthwatch Herefordshire to organise regular Herefordshire county PPG network events. Details of these events can be found on the Healthwatch Herefordshire website, here.

If you want to get involved you should contact your practice directly.
