If you, or someone you care for, use the same medicines regularly, you may not need to get a new prescription every time you need more medicine. This pharmacy service is called "repeat dispensing" and means you won't have to visit the surgery or make an appointment to see the doctor or practice nurse every time you need more medicine.
The first step is to talk to the person who prescribes your medicines - this will usually be your doctor or practice nurse. If eligible for repeat dispensing, patients can collect their medicines for up to a year just by visiting the pharmacist.
All 27 community pharmacies in Herefordshire can provide this service.
"Getting my son's medicine couldn't be easier now. I just pop into the pharmacy when I'm out doing the shopping". Jo, 29, mum
